The label operating system

Run your label.
Not a spreadsheet.

The operating system for an independent music label — site, store and fan club, plus the part nobody else builds: contracts, per-track royalty splits, payouts and artist portals.

The difference

Most platforms give you a website. Izwi runs the business.

A storefront is the easy 20%. The hard 80% — who's owed what, on which track, after the label cut — is where labels still live in spreadsheets. Izwi does both.

What a website gives you

  • A marketing site
  • A storefront
  • An email list
  • …and a folder of spreadsheets for the rest

What running a label actually needs

  • Contracts registry — masters, schedules, signatures on file
  • Per-track royalty splits with canonical attribution
  • Royalty CSV ingestion + a finance dashboard
  • Artist portals — each act sees its own earnings

The back office — the part nobody else builds

Contracts · splits · royalties · payouts · portals

Import a distributor CSV and Izwi attributes every stream down to per-track splits, resolves compilation appearances to their canonical recording, applies the label cut, and shows each artist their own earnings. Explore the back office ↓

The software your spreadsheets wish they were.

Contracts, splits, royalties and payouts — the back office most platforms leave you to run in spreadsheets. This is the part Izwi was built for.

The Izwi label dashboard: total streams 2.46M, revenue, active releases and artists, a streams-over-time chart, top platforms, recent releases and top tracks.
The label dashboardStreams, revenue, platforms, releases and top tracks — your whole label at a glance, live from your own catalogue.
Per-track royalty splits: SVEE. primary 55%, KAYZA featured 20%, NOMAD producer 10%, Izwi Label 15%, with a stacked bar and $9,302.41 net to artists.
Per-track splitsEvery contributor, role and share on a track — summed to 100%, label cut applied, net to artists computed.
Artist earnings portal for SVEE.: total earnings, a your-share donut, and a per-track table of streams and after-cut earnings.

One source of truth. Every figure traces back to a signed contract and a per-track split — no reconciliation, no “trust me.” See it running live ↗

From CSV to paid

Four steps to a label that runs itself.

A tangle of raw royalty data on the left resolving into clean, ordered payout lines on the right.

One messy distributor CSV in. Clean, per-track, attributed payouts out.

01

We launch your label

Site, store and fan club go live on your own domain, themed to your brand, backed by your own database.

02

You import a CSV

Drop in a distributor royalty export — Stem, DistroKid, AWAL, Symphonic and the like all fit the same pipeline.

03

Izwi does the math

Every stream is attributed to per-track splits, compilation appearances resolve to the canonical recording, and the label cut is applied.

04

Artists see their own

Each act logs into a read-only portal and sees exactly what it earned — no exports, no email threads, no disputes.

Your data, your label

Built to custody money and contracts.

Holding a roster's earnings and agreements is a responsibility we designed for — not an afterthought.

Your own database

Each label gets an isolated database. Your contracts and royalties never share a table with anyone else's — one breach is never everyone's.

Your own domain & brand

It's your site, on your domain, in your colours — not a tenant page on someone's marketplace.

Monthly backups

Automated off-site backups of your catalogue and books, with a documented restore path. Your numbers don't vanish.

Paddle merchant of record

Payments, sales tax and global compliance are handled by Paddle as merchant of record — not paperwork on your desk.

Self-host option

Want total control? Take the build and run it on your own infrastructure. You owe us nothing after that.

You own the build

One-time purchase, no lock-in, no royalty cut. The code that runs your label is yours to keep.

Plans

Start with a storefront. Grow into the back office.

One-time build — pay once and own it. Everyone else rents you a subscription or takes a cut of your royalties. We don't.

Where Izwi fits

The layer above your website and your distributor.

A site builder gives you a page. A distributor gets you on Spotify. Neither runs the business between them — the contracts, splits and payouts. Here's who does what.

Why this exists

Izwi isn't a demo. We run a real label on it — The Esoteric Ones — every release, contract and split on this exact engine.

We got tired of reconciling payouts in spreadsheets and gluing together five tools that still couldn't answer the one question that matters: who's owed what, on which track, after the label cut. So we built what we wished existed, ran our own catalogue on it, and only then made it a product.

Questions

The things every label asks first.

What does “pay once, own it” actually include?+

A one-time build fee gets you a fully configured Izwi deployment — your site, store and (on the Label tier) the full back office — on your own domain and database. There's no required subscription. Hosting and ongoing support are optional add-ons; self-host and you owe nothing further.

How is this different from DistroKid or a website builder?+

Distributors get your music onto DSPs; website builders give you a page. Neither tells you who's owed what after a release goes out. Izwi is the layer above both — it ingests the royalties a distributor reports and runs the contracts, per-track splits, finance and artist payouts that a label actually has to manage.

Which distributors and royalty formats do you support?+

The royalty importer reads the standard Stem-style CSV, which also matches DistroKid, AWAL, CD Baby and Symphonic exports. If your distributor exports something different, the Custom tier covers mapping it.

Can artists see each other's earnings?+

No. The artist portal is strictly read-only and scoped to each act — every artist sees only their own releases, contracts and earnings, never the rest of the roster or the label's totals.

Do I have to let you host it?+

No. You can self-host the build on your own infrastructure at no ongoing cost. Most labels prefer the optional hosting add-on so we keep it patched and updated — but it's your choice, and you can switch later.

Can you migrate my existing catalogue and contracts?+

Yes — that's what the Custom tier is for. We migrate your artists, releases, back catalogue and deal structures from your current setup so you start with your real data, not a blank slate.

I'm a small or brand-new label. Is this overkill?+

Start with Starter — site, store and newsletter — and grow into the back office when you sign your first splits. Same engine; you only turn on what you need, when you need it.
